Every year on September 21, the United Nations observes Peace Day. UFPFF, a festival of short films for students on the themes of “Peace” and “SDGs” held every year in conjunction with Peace Day, will be held on September 16 (Mon., holiday) at Human Trust Cinema Shibuya as a joint event with the NPO PEACE DAY.
In the first part of the PEACE DAY Special Program, after the opening talk session, actor/TV personality Sahel Rose’s first film “Bouquet” (Executive Producer: Shunji Iwai, Music: SUGIZO) will be screened, and after the screening Sahel Rose and cast members will take the stage! The film was directed by Ms. Sahel Rose.Young people from orphanages who responded to Sahel’s call participated in this project. This is a record of four years of “expression” by young people living with scars.
The second part is UFPFF 2024. It will include a screening of this year’s 9 finalist films, a jury session, and an awards ceremony. Also, as a special screening,“Nazianini,” the winner of the PLURAL+UFPFF Award 2023. The Sapporo International Short Film Festival 2023 will screen the Peace Selection film “Palestine Islands”. Peace Day Talk will be moderated by Mr. Takeshi Ito, President of asobot inc. and guest speaker will be Ms. Sumiko Hatakeyama, Executive Committee Member of Peace Boat, to discuss how we can realize peace. Admission: 1,000 yen for Part 1, 1,000 yen for Part 2, 2,000 yen for a through ticket
Tickets will be sold until 24:00 the day before the event. If tickets remain, you may attend on the day of the event.
